WE FIGHT FOR EARLY EDUCATION

2017 Fundraising Need: $350,000

Routt County United Way fights for the early education of every child in Routt County, helping ensure that every child is ready for kindergarten.

In the past year we:

  • Funded 96 scholarships for low income children to participate in early childhood education;

  • Launched an improved literacy program: Imagination Library, where one book is mailed each month to a child’s home between birth and age five;

  • Continued as an active member in First Impressions’ early childhood council.

WE FIGHT FOR YOUTH SUCCESS

2017 Fundraising Need: $250,000

Routt County fights for the success of every young person in Routt County, enabling our youth to be successful.

In the past year we:

  • Supported community programs that helped 70% of the youth in Routt County;

  • Conducted school listening tours in all three school districts (Steamboat, Hayden, South Routt);

  • Served as an active participant on a county-wide youth research group.

WE FIGHT FOR FINANCIAL STABILITY

2017 Fundraising Need: $150,000

Routt County United Way fights for the financial stability of every person in Routt County, helping to ensure that every family and individual are self-sufficient.

In the past year we:

  • Supported Routt to Work, a long-term collaboration that helps families learn skills to cope with stress and set and achieve goals to become self-sufficient;

  • Spearheaded the “Ask a Financial Professional” free clinic series;

  • Organized the Senior Caring volunteer group.

WE FIGHT FOR HEALTH & SAFETY

2017 Fundraising Need: $250,000

Routt Coutt United Way fights for the health and safety of every person in Routt County, ensuring that every individual is healthy and safe and has access to crisis services when needed.

In the past year we:

  • Sponsored and supported the RX Taskforce;

  • Funded critical crisis services such as Advocates’ domestic violence shelter, suicide prevention, mental health transportation and therapy services, emergency food bank, and emergency assistance.
