Routt County United Way says “thank you” by organizing and serving a full-course traditional Thanksgiving Day dinner for the entire community.

Local volunteers donate time and all the food. Local Girl Scout troops create special decorations. Culinary professionals from various local restaurants provide their master carving techniques for the over 25 cooked turkeys donated.

We are so grateful to have the beautiful Steamboat Springs Community Center to host this special event. Everyone is invited—seniors, students, seasonal workers, visitors and those who simply want to spend Thanksgiving Day with friends. Hundreds of people enjoy a warm meal, warm hospitality, and a warm heart.

Routt County United Way Day of Caring

Humble Ranch 3

Each spring, volunteers take part in projects that help individuals and non-profit agencies in need. Projects range from dusting the shelves of the Tread of Pioneers Museum, to raking leaves at Communidad Integrada, to painting a fence at a child care center. Work begins at approximately 8 a.m., and the Ski Town Lions Club historically provides a free lunch for volunteers at noon at Olympian Hall. We also celebrate our volunteers by naming our Volunteer of the Year award at the luncheon.

$10K/$20K Day for United Way

Each year, Routt County United Way challenges the community to help us raise $10,000 to $20,000 in just one day!

Yampa Valley Bank 20K Day

Typically, we have a matching donation from one of our partners. (A special thanks to Yampa Valley Bank for your continued support! To find out how you can sponsor a $10K or 20K Day, contact United Way at 970-879-5605.)

Consistently, the community has stepped up to make $10K/$20K Days overwhelmingly successful — often doubling or tripling our goal for the day!
