One of the best things you can do for a child is read with them. We collaborate with local elementary and preschools on a volunteer reading program to help kids with homework and reading. Some students need the extra one-on-one time to complete their homework and to build reading skills at their own pace.
Soda Creek Elementary needs virtual volunteers to help students with their reading assignments. This opportunity is virtual! Sign up to be a virtual volunteer with Soda Creek by filling out this survey: , where you get to work with kids on homework assignments and with general reading, word recognition, and comprehension.

All children in Routt County from birth to age five can sign up to receive one free age-appropriate book each month mailed directly to their home.
Reading to children during these key development years helps develop language, comprehension, and a love of reading. Having books in the home increases the time families spend reading together.
As your children progress in school and start reading grade-level books, you can return used Imagination Library books to Routt County United Way. We will make sure they stay in circulation in the community with families who need them!
Volunteer and help get more children registered to receive free books and spread the word about the program.
You can donate directly to the Imagination Library to provide books for local children.
– $25 supports one child for one year, supplying the child with 12 free books. – $125 supports one child from birth to age 5, supplying the child with all 60 free books. – $1,250 supports ten children from birth to age 5, supplying each of the ten children with all 60 books.
With a donation of $250 you can gift the Imagination Library to a child in your life who lives in an area that does not offer the Imagination Library. At the same time your donation will sponsor the program for a child in Routt County.
