Time Sensitive Opportunities

Volunteer Training Academy | Advocates of Routt County

Advocates of Routt County is hosting a Volunteer Training Academy for the Advocates 24/7 Safeline on Tuesday & Thursday evenings during the month of October. Advocates serves all victims and survivors of domestic and sexual abuse in Routt County. They are looking for empathetic, compassionate people who are interested in helping people in need here in our community. The training provides a certification which gives the volunteer a certificate and guarantees confidential privilege when working with clients. September 9-October 28 | Routt to Work

Routt County Council on Aging (RCCOA)

Client home-based projects

Given a choice, older adults often prefer to stay in their community—and in most cases, in their own homes—for as long as possible. RCCOA helps make that choice possible. We strive to ensure that seniors can age in place by providing resources and information they need to make decisions on their health, their living situation and their personal care needs.

Routt County Council on Aging needs volunteers one day per month to help senior citizens with simple home projects. Tasks are fairly light in nature and should take about one hour to complete. Contact april@rccoaging.org for more details.

Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide (REPS)

Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide (REPS) provides suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention. REPS is a volunteer coalition of community members invested in stopping suicide in the Yampa Valley and supporting those who have lost a loved one to suicide through education and awareness. We believe that suicide is devastating to our community and that there are alternatives.

REPS seeks to preserve, protect and promote life by providing the Yampa Valley with a group of trained volunteers, collaborative initiatives, educational programs, compassionate survivor-care and proactive suicide prevention.

Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide (REPS) is collaborating with the Yampa Valley Medical Center to provide volunteer assistance to suicidal patients in the hospital Emergency Department. Training is provided to volunteers. For information please email repssteamboat@gmail.com.

Our mission is to empower and enrich lives through adaptive recreational activities.

STARS mission is to empower and enrich lives through adaptive recreational sports. STARS was formed in 2007 by a group of parents, ski instructors, and management from Steamboat Ski Corporation to help provide improved winter recreational opportunities for people with disabilities. In 2010 STARS was contracted by Steamboat Ski Corporation to be the exclusive operator all winter adaptive lessons and programs for the Steamboat Ski area. Since then STARS has grown to offer year-round programming on and off the mountain.
